Technical.ly isn’t just online anymore: We’re now on the air, too.

For our new monthly “Technically Speaking” segment with media partner WURD, Pennsylvania’s only Black-owned talk radio station, a Technical.ly staffer will join radio vet Tonya Pendleton in conversation about a tech story of the moment. The segment airs at 12:25 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month during the “Reality Check” show.

In our first episode in July, Pendleton and I talked with Black Tech Nation founder Kelauni Jasmyn about her plans to expand the Pittsburgh-based org’s programming to Philly.

In August, my guests were two low-vision Philadelphians: LyVette Byrd, a former counselor navigating life as a “suddenly blind person” who is featured in our yearlong audio documentary series for the Thriving project — catch a sneak peek here — and Lisa Bryant, who wrote a Thriving feature for which she interviewed five other visually impaired Philadelphians about the economic obstacles and opportunities they face.
