VeryApt, the StartUp PHL portfolio company that offers an online apartment guide, hired a former Gilt Groupe staffer, Andris Zvargulis, to focus on business development and analytics.
Zvargulis moved to Philly from NYC to join VeryApt but is originally from Chester Springs, Pa., cofounder Scott Bierbryer told us. Gilt Groupe, which recently raised $50 million, offers online-only deals on fashionable clothes and accessories.
“We’re particularly excited to bring his business development/analytics expertise in consumer tech back to Philadelphia,” Bierbryer wrote in an email.
Zvargulis joins the company’s two Wharton MBA cofounders, Bierbryer and Ashrit Kamireddi, CTO Andrew Mackowski and Chief Architect (and Bierbryer’s brother) Ross Bierbryer, whom VeryApt also poached from New York City. The company has outgrown its home office and now works out of 2401 Walnut Street, where Wharton has offered space for its MBA-led startups. Bierbryer says the company is now looking for a more permanent space.
