They paid a couple hundred bucks for an “auto-balancing” bike. Are they ever going to get it?
That’s what the backers of the Kickstarter campaign for Jyrobike are wondering, the Philadelphia Business Journal reported. The campaign raised more than $185,000 — well over its $100,000 goal — last July, but now its creators won’t respond to emails, according to the report.
The company is based in the United Kingdom and until last summer, Dana Hoffer, Jyrobike’s head of engineering, was based out of Center City’s Seed Philly incubator. PBJ couldn’t get a straight answer from Jyrobike founder and CEO Robert Bodill about the fate of the company.
