Good morning Philly.
With all the news coming out of South by Southwest, its easy to loose track of your own backyard. But don’t worry we’ve got you covered. If you didn’t make it to Austin this year, Philly has a few events to hold you over.
This weekend: drink at the not-at-SXSW mixer, talk games at the local game developer meetup, learn how not to get sued and a free one-day conference on innovation at Temple.
Game Developers Meetup GDC was two weeks ago, so we imagine local game devs have lots to discuss. Hang at Cosi’s with the meetup group and talk GDC, PAX and how this humble reporter will beat any of you in NBA2k11. One of those things is not true. Center City. Saturday. 1:30 p.m. INFO.
Build Guild Philly – Didn’t make it to Austin for SXSW? Build Guild is teaming up with a half-dozen other local tech groups for the not-at-SXSW Philly mixer. Grab a beer, eat a burger and talk about tech at Triumph. Old City. Wednesday. 6 p.m. INFO.
Philly AIGA – They teach you lots of things in art school, but we’re willing to bet intellectual property isn’t one of them. Get up to speed with AIGA when they host Frank Taney, an attorney with Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney who will teach you how to avoid pesky legal disputes with clients and others. Center City6:30 p.m. Tuesday. INFO.
incitexchange – It’s a free, one-day conference at Temple University around design, management and innovation led by their new Center for Design and Innovation. Appearances include Mayor Nutter and former City CTO Allan Frank. More coverage coming this afternoon. RSVP
