Are you one of thousands of creative-minded young folks headed to that annual conference in Austin this March? Yeah, neither are we.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t also celebrate great digital art, web design and fun, new interactive technology springing up in our own local communities. We can be not at SXSW together.
This year, as part Technical.ly’s annual tradition of hosting a celebratory #notatSXSW party, we are formalizing something the informal get-together has always sought to honor with a new national digital art and web design competition.
If you’re from one of our communities, get your graphic design or other digital work on display in Baltimore, Brooklyn or Philadelphia.
We will host three parties alongside local design competitions in our three respective sister cities with strong design scenes: Baltimore, Brooklyn and Philadelphia. At each, it will be the local tech and innovation community that will decide on the winners. After the events and once a designer has been crowned in each city, we’ll hold an online voting period to find the overall winner: the Best Design in the Northeast (kind of like Best of NXNE..maybe?)
Join us at our upcoming parties and submit a recent piece of design work to enter the competition:
- Thursday, March 6: Technical.ly Baltimore hosts at Inner Harbor design firm r2integrated.
RSVP here - Tuesday, March 11: Technical.ly Philly hosts at Old City game dev coworking space Philly Game Forge.
RSVP here - Thursday, March 13: Technical.ly Brooklyn hosts at Dumbo’s Made in NY Media Center.

To enter the competition, email a copy of your design, your name and your Twitter handle to corinne [AT] technical[DOT]ly with the subject line: “[City] #notatSXSW Design Competition: [Your name]”
