Brooklyn-born POS system ShopKeep has raised nearly $100M

Now based in SoHo, the retailer's tool announced last month a $60M Series D investment, bringing a total of $92.7 million since launching in 2008.

If you’ve worked at a restaurant, coffee shop or other retailer, you might know ShopKeep.
The company behind a point-of-sale system boasts more than 18,000 customers, and while its Brooklyn ties are fading — now based in SoHo but founded in 2008 by Brooklyn retailer Jason Richelson — it’s worth tracking them here. There is a danger to too closely tying capital raised to success had but ShopKeep does boast year over year monthly revenue growth. Read this Q&A with CEO Norm Merritt.
