Who’s Getting Funded

When we last checked in, Full Society was in the midst of raising money for dev work on IndieGoGo as the startup graduated from AccelerateBaltimore. This week, the restaurant bill-splitting and benevolence app announced that its crowdfunding campaign is fully funded. That means they’ll get $20,000 (and potentially more) to continue building their software.

Who’s Making Moves

Pixilated Photobooth is opening a new location in Federal Hill. The space, located at 46 E. Cross St., will function as an art gallery and pop-up space. The team is hosting an opening party on Thursday, May 20, and they want you to bring the first art to be displayed.
Light City, the art-tech-music festival slated to debut next spring, issued a call for projects. They’re looking for illuminated installations, and live performances or other exhibits with a light component. And, there’s grant money available.
Groove announced the launch of HubShop.ly, a HubSpot eCommerce integration that helps retailers market to clients. It’s one of the first fruits of the digital agency’s partnership with Bigcommerce.
Ad firm LMO Advertising announced two new hires in its Baltimore office. Melissa Glaude was hired as Senior Business Analyst and Trevor Best was hired as a visual designer.
Former LMO Advertising Community Manager and Refresh Baltimore organizer Sarah Jones was hired as Digital Project Manager at FastSpot.

Who’s Getting Buzz

ZeroFOX was named Emerging Tech Company of the Year at the Maryland Tech Council’s annual awards ceremony. According to the citation, the Federal Hill-based cybersecurity firm was honored for a year of “great growth for the company, during which it expanded its workforce more than 380 percent, saw its revenue grow 150 percent from the first to the fourth quarter and inked major partnerships with companies such as McAfee, Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. and OpenDNS.”
SeeFuture and ShapeU won this year’s Towson University Business Competition earlier this month. The two companies came out on top of a field of more than 40 executive summaries. The prize packages were valued at more than $20,000, and included cash as well as a 90-day residency at Towson’s incubator.
