SameGrain closes $800K seed funding round [Startup Roundup]

who’s getting funded?

SameGrain, based out of the Emerging Technology Center in Highlandtown, has completed raising a seed round of $800,000, according to CityBizList. In February, as Technical.ly Baltimore reported, the startup announced it had raised $550,000 of the roundaccording to SEC filings. The social networking startup, yet to launch, allows users to “discover” other people with similar interests anonymously.

who’s making moves?

Edtech startup An Estuary has launched an online, aggregated journal of articles about education technology called FieldFlips.
Edtech startup Allovue has made three new hires, including a part-time communications manager and two developers, according to founder Jess Gartner.
Wham City Lights, the Mount Vernon-based startup that creates concert light shows through its mobile application, is currently being used by pop musician Demi Lovato on her latest tour.
