Moore College of Art & Design is celebrating Women’s History Month and the first graduates of its Animation & Game Arts major with a film festival dedicated to women in animation.
The college’s Women in Animation Film Festival, will be a four-day series of free panels and screenings from March 23 to 26. The festival was inspired by MooreWomenArtists, an online hub for women in the visual arts, and the film festival the organization introduced just last year.
There will be a variety of cool events to catch at next month’s festival, including:
- Films by Asian-Canadian filmmaker Ann Marie Fleming, American filmmaker Faith Hubley, and Latvian-native filmmaker Signe Baumane.
- Game developers Kat Webster of Bioware and Lauren Brown of EA Games will discuss their work and how they’re changing the gaming industry.
- A Creative Jam tournament hosted by Adobe where contestants will share their Adobe Creative Cloud projects and presentations.
- Jessica Ciocci, founding member of art collective Paper Rad, will present a “mixtape” of works by women animators she admires.
