Donald Trump has been sworn in as the country’s 45th president.
But later this afternoon, a collective of 20 nonprofits in Philly — including the Media Mobilizing Project and PhillyCAM — will take an oath of their own.
“Communities from across the city will take The People’s Oath to defend each other against the devastating polices of the Trump Administration, and to work together for positive changes,” reads a statement from the New Sanctuary Movement, the immigrant advocacy group that is leading the charge on the ceremony, dubbed “The People’s Inauguration.”
The organizations will gather at Independence Mall to hear from a lineup of speakers on issues like racial and economic justice, environmental justice and women’s rights.
Here’s the lineup of organizations taking the vow:
- Asian Americans United
- Youth United for Change
- Media Mobilizing Project
- Jewish Voices for Peace
- One Pennsylvania
- New Sanctuary Movement of Philadelphia
- Put People First! PA
- Philadelphia Democratic Socialists
- Socialist Students CCP
- Philly Standing Rock
- ADAPT
- National Equality Coalition
- PhillyCAM
- Spiral Q
- Student Power Network
- Philadelphia Socialists
- Philly Children’s March
- Philly Thrive
- The Caucus of Working Educator
- 15 Now of Temple University
