Delivery service goPuff is live in State College, Pa.
To celebrate the launch — which means tapping into Penn State’s close to 100,000 students — the company is throwing in a pint of ice cream to every order from that city until Dec. 17. (The company has always been creative in marketing.)
Students and residents of the town will have access to an inventory of 3,000 items delivered to their doorstep from 12 p. m. – 4:30 a. m.
The expansion marks the first time goPuff has tapped into a straightforwardly college town instead of a big city, but with all those millennials cramming for finals, the move sounds like a pretty safe bet. Not to mention that college students have always been goPuff’s core audience.
goPuff, headquartered near 12th and Spring Garden, currently serves 12 U.S. cities, with the inclusion of Portland, Seattle, Tucson and Penn State. That number is up from nine since this summer, an expansion fueled by the Anthos Capital-led Series A round of $8.25 million.
