ROAR for Good hasn’t just been sitting around as the drop date for its flagship Athena product comes around.
Together with Philly-based designer Kyle Martin and developer Kostas Nasis, the company will be releasing its Personal Safety app this month.
The mobile app will let users check in with their loved ones if they feel anxious about their surroundings, similar to the SilentROAR feature that will be part of Athena.
But there’s also a lot of added value, ROAR’s cofounder Yasmine Mustafa says.
“We wanted to do more than just build a standard application that paired with our safety jewelry,” Mustafa said. “W wanted to provide value to our community.”
The apps will feed users info on issues relating to violence against women, offer access to petitions and other engagement opportunities.
Currently, the beta version has been rolled out to some 70 beta testers, but ROAR is looking for more users to help improve the app and report any bugs.

P.S. According to Mustafa, Athena is currently on schedule to make that fall 2016 shipping date.
