Philly’s new parking app is opening a Philly office

This summer, Philadelphians will be able to use a mobile app called Pango to pay for parking.
Pango, an Israeli company with offices in New York and Baltimore, is also going to open an office in Philadelphia, the Inquirer reported. It was part of the contract. (Pango is not operational throughout Baltimore or New York City, though it does serve Alexandria, Va., and specific garages in New York.)
Philadelphia is the first big U.S. city that Pango will serve. Currently, small cities in Pennsylvania use it, like Latrobe and Scranton. Former Gov. Ed Rendell is the sole person on the company’s advisory board, according to its website.
The company will move four to five of its staffers in New York to Philadelphia and “probably” marketing staffers, too, according to the Inquirer report. They’re looking for a space near Philadelphia Parking Authority headquarters, at 7th and Market Streets in Old City. May we suggest N3rd Street?
