“Philadelphia has a great tradition of manufacturing,” American Certified founder Marvin Weinberger said in a video interview with Technical.ly Philly. “One of my near-term objectives is to bring local companies into our directory of American makers.”
Weinberger recently took over the Venturef0rth coworking space and has graciously brought in the latest DreamIt Ventures accelerator cohort to use the office space (on a deferred payment schedule contingent upon funding) while they get their bearings.
“Venturef0rth has been terrific,” Weinberger said. “I’ve divided VF into two components: a not-for-profit which runs the real estate, and the business accelerator partnered with a for-profit Venture Fund. This provides me the opportunity to ‘practice philanthropy’ — through mentoring and growing young companies.”
As for the DreamIt companies, “I love each of the companies that joined us from their program and am determined to see that each of them becomes a success,” Weinberger said.
