Philadelphia City Council gave props to Scholly cofounder Christopher Gray on Wednesday.
Gray, a Drexel undergrad, made waves when he pitched his app on ABC’s “Shark Tank” last month and sparked a fight between the celebrity investors on the show. After the show aired, the scholarship-finder app spent more than a week at the No. 1 spot on the App Store’s paid app list.
“This has been a great experience,” Gray said at City Council. “I’ve been in Philadelphia for about four years now. My work here in Philly working with students … really inspired me to create Scholly, so I’m really happy that the program now has national awareness, and now has a cornerstone right here in Philadelphia.”
