You’re either a zombie or a survivor in a new iBeacon-powered mobile game from ecommerce company WebLinc‘s innovation arm, WebLinc Labs.

iBeacon is an Apple technology that lets iOS apps to get location-based notifications through Bluetooth. In ZomBeacon, a map shows you when zombies are close by and that’s your cue to flee. If you’re a zombie, the map shows you all your nearby targets.

WebLinc Labs has been around for two years, the company said through a spokesman, but ZomBeacon is the first project to come out of the lab that has wider appeal. Other projects have been more technical, like “Testing your front-end for i18n with the pseudolocalization widget.” WebLinc Labs is also experimenting with Google Glass.
