AT&T EduTech Hackathon follows TechCamp April 5 and 6 [EVENT]

TechCamp Philadelphia: Education — an unconference and hackathon hosted by the U.S. Department of State, the Philadelphia School District and Technically Philly held in late February — brought together more 100 civically-engaged technologists with education professionals to work on 20 projects to help impact Philadelphia’s school system.

In an effort to continue the momentum and energy that emerged from TechCamp, AT&T, Technically Philly, Jarvus Innovations, Temple University’s Urban Apps & Maps will host the AT&T EduTech Hackathon presented on Friday, April 5 and Saturday, April 6 at Temple University’s Alter Hall. This will be an opportunity for other interested developers and educators to get involved, who were unable to make it to TechCamp in late February.

Participants who attend the EduTech hackathon on April 5 and 6 will have a chance to win a demo presentation slot during Philly Tech Week where more than $10,000 in startup grant funding as well as Temple student cash prizes and as in-kind services for winning projects will be awarded. AT&T’s Developer Program team, which organizes hackathons across the U.S., is offering prizes, experience, support and more to help participants learn about new technologies and building innovative apps in a single weekend. Prizes and services will be awarded to winning teams who create mobile and web applications that can impact Philadelphia’s education community, helping to boost these projects into the next stages of development and implementation.
