EPAM Systems, the publicly-traded software solutions company based in Newtown, Pa., acquired Conshohocken-based digital agency Empathy Lab, according to a release. Details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Founded in 2005, Empathy Lab’s clients include the Red Cross, AIG and Comcast. Recently, the company announced the hires of nearly a dozen staffers.

EPAM was founded in 1993 and employs more than 8,1000 people, according to the release. It has offices all over Europe but its global headquarters are in Newtown, Pa. More details as we have them.

Technology community exits come and go in the region, but the consolidation of a multinational like EPAM with a services shop like Empathy Lab is a design spin that, one might hope, would be about adding a client roster and some innovation to strengthen a larger firm with a suburban Philadelphia home base.
