CultureWorks, the coworking space aimed at improving funding of the arts in Philadelphia, has announced it will open its new Center City coworking space on the first day of October this year.

The announcement comes almost exactly a year after Technically Philly spoke with CultureWorks founder Thaddeus Squire about his plans for the coworking space. The new 4,500 square foot space is in the Philadelphia Building, located at 1315 Walnut Street, as Flying Kite reported. CultureWorks will house the related Hidden City Festival that Squire founded and used to launch historical preservation blog Hidden City Daily. That’s also the same location of business analytics firm RJ Metrics and the new headquarters for web design firm Zivtech.

Membership prices range $45-$350 per month depending on how much time you’d like to spend in the space. Currently, though, CultureWorks is accepting applications to join as a founding member, which entails making a “co-investment” of three months worth of dues to be applied to the first three months of coworking once the space opens, according to the CultureWorks site.
