Visualizing what it takes to be a woman in the tech industry [INFOGRAPHIC]

Women like Facebook’s Sheryl Sandberg may be inspiring more women to enter the fields of computer and information science, but a new infographic by IT Manager Daily shows there still aren’t enough.

But we like to think that, while this infographic may reflect a less than stellar national average, Philadelphia is ahead of the curve. Here in Philly, women are leading in technology in a variety of ways. We’ve covered the movement before, but might we also add that Philly Tech Week features a handful of events dedicated to women, including the Women in Tech Summit, the Women in Science panel discussion, cross-listed with the Science Festival, the KEYSPOT: Women and Minority Tech Leaders event and the Podcasting Workshop by TechGirlz.
