The just-over-one-year-old D.C. ridesharing startup Split announced another step in its near-constant expansion march on Wednesday: the service now extends to Ivy City in Northeast. According to a press release, this is great for anyone who wants to explore the “up-and-coming neighborhood.”
The company also recently made a new hire, bringing on Christopher Hogan as head of strategy and analytics. Hogan previously worked as vice president of analytics at LivingSocial. In a statement, Split CEO Ario Keshani said Hogan “will play an integral role in Split’s continued dedication to accelerated growth across the board.”
Despite D.C.’s relatively full ridesharing market, Split says demand continues to grow. What’s more, the company claims a 98 percent customer satisfaction rating.
Via, New York-born ridesharing option that recently launched in D.C., also announced a coverage area expansion — they’ll now serve Columbia Heights.
