New Castle County’s Emerging Enterprise Center was originally going to have its third annual Entrepreneurial Summit at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in May, as part of the inaugural neoFest.
That event — a joint project from over a dozen local organizations — has been postponed until 2021, but the summit, and the EEC’s eighth annual Swim With the Sharks Pitch Competition, will happen this year on Oct. 20 in a virtual format.
This year’s Entrepreneurial Summit will focus on interactive workshops on topics that businesses are facing in today’s crisis, including funding options available to all businesses, the power of storytelling to get your brand featured on a national scale, and talks from innovators who are disrupting industries.
A to-be-announced keynote and workshops will happen from 9 a.m. until noon, followed by virtual exhibitor tabling until 1:30 p.m., when the Swim with Sharks Pitch Competition will begin (this portion will be televised on DETV). All sessions will be recorded and available to attendees for rewatching.
While the details of the event haven’t been announced yet, now is a good time to register, with early-bird pricing in effect until Sept. 1 at about 50% off for non-New Castle County Chamber of Commerce members ($20, with a regular price of $39) and 40% off for members ($15, with a regular price of $25).
