Want to know exactly what you’re getting yourself into with food delivery? For customers ordering Galley’s on-demand dinners that’s now a little easier.
The Ivy City-based food delivery startup announced last month that it is adding nutritional information to its menus. Just tap the “ingredients” tab on any menu item to see the content of calories, protein, sugar, etc. in each serving. As of this writing, it appeared that not all menu items have full nutritional information just yet, but the Galley team promises they’re rolling out the feature “as fast as we can.”
Given Galley’s production process, this new feature is not exactly an easy add. “Since we make all of our meals from scratch, we calculate everything ourselves from scratch as well,” the team wrote in a blog post on Medium. “We break down all of our recipes by the ingredient and calculate each meal’s nutrition information ourselves. It’s not an easy process, but it provides us with information we know is accurate.”
The new nutritional information may make it easier for Galley to attract calorie-conscious customers. Just remember — any wine you order also counts toward your dinner’s caloric total.
