Aquicore announces expansion to San Francisco

Aquicore, the Mount Vernon Square-based software company that helps buildings monitor gas and water usage, announced on Wednesday that it’s expanding west.
The company cites the West Coast’s growing demand as the reason for opening a San Francisco office.
“There is a keen interest about energy consumption, transparency and sustainability among tenants, developers and building owners in California given the state’s Title 24 and other energy related regulatory initiatives taking hold this year,” Aquicore founder and CEO Logan Soya said in a statement.
Soya is also excited about potential partnerships Aquicore will be able to make with a location in California’s “key tech hub.”
The statement named Lauren Goodman and Brian Miranda as leaders for business development in S.F., and Dustin Dolby as regional sales head.
For Aquicore, which raised a $3.1 million seed round in August, 2015 was a year of growth. The company saw a 600 percent increase in new customers and a 1,000 percent increase in meters delivered and connected, according to the statement. No word on the raw numbers those lofty stats are derived from.
