Brooklyn’s largest tech company laid off two-thirds of its workers today, about 800 people, according to a report from the New York Observer.
The report is based off a tweet from and interview with one of Amplify’s workers. A call for confirmation was not returned to Technical.ly Brooklyn.

Amplify is an edtech startup owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation. It produces software and hardware designed to make learning a more immersive and fun experience for students.
In April, Amplify was the subject of a scathing piece in Bloomberg, called “News Corp.’s $1 billion plan to overhaul education is riddled with failures.”
