Here are the five most over-subscribed Brooklyn tech Kickstarters

The tech projects that have won the most support on Kickstarter's crowdfunding platform.

If you spend enough time on crowdfunding giant Kickstarter, you can find enough tech projects in Brooklyn to keep you busy. We share as many as we can, though many do well enough to not need the help.

As far as we can tell, here are the five most over-subscribed tech-related Kickstarter projects that listed Brooklyn as their location.

Note: though nearly any web-based crowdfunding project is a tech-related one, we took a pretty narrow focus on them. These are ones that seem to be about advancing technology rather than just an idea that uses it.

5. OpenBCI947 backers. $215,438 pledged of $100,000 goal.

An open source EEG reading device. We already wrote about them.

No word yet on pre-orders.

4.  Deltaprintr691 backers. $236,451 pledged of $195,000 goal.

It’s a 3D printer with an expandable build volume. They seem to be heavily pushing to get this particular printer into schools.

Preorder one now for $499, for shipping in August.

3. Plus Pool3,175 backers. $273,114 pledged of $250,000 goal.
By Dong-Ping Wong, Archie Lee Coates IV and Jeffrey Franklin, founders of PlusPool.

The Plus Pool will one day be a floating club pool in the East River. The idea is that they will build a giant floating filtration system that will make it safe to swim in the river water, which is filtered before it enters the swimming area. They are building it entirely based on selling little chunks of the pool itself. This summer, a prototype will go up that will test their tech under real conditions.

The team has relocated to the West Village, but at least some of them still live in Brooklyn.

You can still buy a tile in the pool. $25 gets your name on a group tile. $199 gets you your own tile. Both get you early access to the pool itself, when it goes in the river.

2. Remee Lucid Dreaming Mask. 6,557 backers. $572,891 pledged of $35,000 goal.
By Bitbanger Labs.

Lucid dreaming is real. People really can wake up inside their dreams and do just about anything they imagine. It’s a skill you can learn, but technology can help. Bitbanger Labs worked to bring down the cost of that technology for you, to spend more time doing whatever you want in the dream world.

Order a Remee now for $95.

1. Pixelstick. 2,171 backers. $628,417 pledged of $110,000 goal
By Bitbanger Labs. This isn’t a typo. These guys have the #1 and the #2 project in Brooklyn.

This device allows you to paint just about anything you want onto long exposure photograph or film, with light.

Preorder one now for $325.
