How to prep for a customer-facing AI launch

Before launching a new customer-facing AI tool, the workforce first needs to know how it works.

Educating its workforce, especially in highly regulated industries like insurance and fintech, ensures that the company avoids sticky legal situations, said Mike Urban, chief technology operations officer at Delaware-based fintech company Best Egg, during a panel at the 1682 conference

One way to do that? Establish AI education and governing groups to become familiar with the tech and keep up with its evolution.

Generative AI is contributing to the misinformation and disinformation landscape this election season, but lifting up trusted sources like local news and government can can combat it.

“Look for those brick and mortar information institutions,” Lara Putnam from the University of Pittsburgh said. “Local paper, local TV news or public officials, and see what information they’re providing, and then share that outwards.”
