Ghost Robotics acquired by South Korean firm

Ghost Robotics officially announced its acquisition by aerospace manufacturer LIG Nex 1. The South Korean defense giant bought a 60% control stake in Ghost in a $240 million deal, making the startup’s total valuation $400 million. 

The company plans to maintain its Philadelphia headquarters at Pennovation Works and the leadership team plans to stay in their roles, founder and CEO Gavin Kenneally told Technical.ly.

The CEO of Vimeo is a ‘big Pennsylvania guy’

Philip Moyer grew up in Reading, earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Pittsburgh and currently lives in Berwyn.

Now the CEO of Vimeo, Moyer started his career as an engineer. He moved to sales, then VC and eventually into leadership roles, working for companies like AWS and Google. But he still credits his career to his lifelong ties to PA.
