Woman-focused coworking space Hera Hub DC is planning to launch a pitch contest in June.

Hera Fast Pitch DC is scheduled to be held on June 13, with $10,000 in cash and services available, as well as a chance to pitch at the Hera Venture Summit in San Diego in September.

This week, Friendship Heights space is issuing a call for entries to female founders.

“Access to funding is one of the biggest issues women business owners face as they grow and scale their businesses,” Julia Westfall, CEO at Hera Hub DC, said in a statement. “We know there are many business owners in the greater metro area who can benefit from an influx of cash and other services as well as from exposure to investors looking to support this community.”

Female founders in the D.C. metro area that lead for-profit, 51-percent women-owned businesses can apply by May 11. A panel is expected to select 10 companies to participate.
