Tuva Labs uses local SAT scores for high school data curriculum

Give students data that shows them something about their future, and they are more likely to engage with it. At least, that seems to be the thinking behind the recent deployment of SAT score data in a local middle school.

Brooklyn teenagers are using data from area high schools to explore data analysis, via a new tool released by Tuva Labs. The tool is based on data released by NYC Open Data. It includes 2012 SAT scores from 32 high schools, including the number of SAT test takers by school, crtical reading, math and writing scores.

The team has been working with three math teachers at David a Boody Jr High School, a borough middle school in Gravesend since last month, according to the company’s blog.
