Two straight lines dominate the map of evictions in Brooklyn: Ocean Avenue and Ocean Parkway.
The map comes from Brooklyn civic-tech startup JustFix.nyc. Other hotspots for eviction filings show up in Crown Heights and Bushwick. According to the registered nonprofit, there were 450,000 evictions filed in New York between 2013 and 2015, which resulted in 25,000–30,000 actual evictions per year.

JustFix.nyc is a free app for New York renters that helps in documenting housing issues and wading through paperwork. It grew out of the Blue Ridge Labs incubator in Downtown Brooklyn, and won the city’s 2015 BigApps competition in the affordable housing category.
