After seven years of using Mac laptops, students at Science Leadership Academy will now use Dell Chromebooks.
Thanks to a yet-to-be-announced grant from Dell, SLA will be the first school in the country to roll out the $300 laptops that run Google’s Chrome operating system and store information in the cloud, Education Week reported. The prominent and selective magnet high school now runs two campuses, its flagship in Center City and SLA-Beeber in West Philadelphia.
Principal Chris Lehmann believes Chromebooks can “revolutionize the way schools are thinking about technology” because of their cost. All of the students of the Workshop School, the project-based learning school in University City, have Google Chromebooks.
