If you’re fascinated by drones and want to fly one but don’t know where to start, check out this four-hour training sesh Wednesday night at Delaware Tech’s Georgetown campus.
It’ll cover recreational use, proper operation and information on safety, rules and equipment. The class will focus on the DJI Phantom, which is a model that holds a camera.
The class is from 5:30-9:30 p.m. and costs $49. You can’t just walk in, though — call 302-259-6330 beforehand to register.
The Georgetown campus is also offering a July summer camp for kids ages 9-16 called Drone Revolution.
For a dash of inspiration, we asked former Technical.ly Delaware lead reporter Tony “I’m friends with Black Thought” Abraham for his favorite piece of Delaware drone ‘tent. Without hesitation, he wistfully mentioned this gem: a tugboat cruisin’ down the C&D Canal.
