It was a staircase that could turn anyone into a musician.
In honor of Music Hack Day, a team of Drexel students hacked a staircase in Drexel’s Main Building in order to make it play different notes for every step.
The project, from Drexel’s student makerspace dLab, took about 60 hours and involved LEDs, microcontrollers and a Raspberry Pi computer. Read more about the technology here. It’s, unfortunately, not up anymore but you can watch a video of the stairs in action here.
