Meet Philly Crime Map, the latest web app created with the city’s recently released data on serious crimes.

Built by Philly Rap Sheet founder Andrew McGill, Philly Crime Map lets you search by address or by crime, and it also offers a few visualizations to monitor crime trends. A pie graph shows you the breakdown of crimes committed during the day and those committed during the night. Another graph plots the crime frequencies over time.

Use Philly Crime Map here.

Philly Crime Map only offers data from the past month, but in an email, McGill said he would soon add data from the last six years. He is also planning to link the Crime Map with data from Philly Rap Sheet, which tracks the latest arrests made in the city, and to post statistical analysis of crime trends.

Check out PHL Crime Mapper, a crime mapping tool we wrote about last week, here. And keep ’em coming, folks.
