First State Angels, Delaware’s angel investor group, is holding its second annual event. It’s targeted at angel investors, aka people who have a desire to invest in early-stage companies.
During the group’s first session, a questionnaire was given out and the most popular topic was term sheets — the documents that begin investment negotiations. The next session is going to cover term sheets — how to read, understand and negotiate contracts as an angel investor.
The session will be facilitated by Michael Kelly, cofounder of ARC Angel Fund out of New York. Carvertise cofounder Mac Nagaswami is going to do a case-study presentation. “He successfully raised money from angel investors and his company is doing well,” said Delaware Innovation Fund Executive Director Pedro Moore. “This should help attending angel investors get a perspective from an entrepreneur.”
The event costs $25 to attend, it includes dinner. First State Angels is hosting the event and the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce is the venue sponsor.
Interested in attending? The event takes place July 12 and doors open at 5:30 p.m.
