How can you integrate real-time data into sculptures? How do you wear “place”?
Those are some of the questions that The Hacktory’s “Unknown Territory” Fellows have been grappling with over the last six months. The Knight Foundation-funded fellowship coached six artists, local and otherwise, on how to integrate technology (think Arduino, CartoDB, C++ and more) into their art.
Tonight is the opening reception for their art showcase. It’s at Crane Arts (1400 North American Street).

Fellows include Michael Kiley, the sound designer behind a mobile app sound tour of Rittenhouse Square, and New American Public Art’s Bevan Weissman, a NextFab member whose collective worked on a recent Camden light art installation.
