Are you an organizer who’s not only trying to plan awesome programming with great organizations for a Philly Tech Week event, but also struggling to find ways to pay for food or get other basics paid for?

Don’t let little details or lack of funds hold you back from hosting an interesting, worthwhile event! Technically Philly wants to help. We have some (very) modest cash we’re setting aside to help events that (a) can do the most good with the least money, (b) fit in the community and impact spirit of Tech Week and (c) will help fill a gap in showing the wide reach of this technology community.

This year, we’ll be offering at least 5 micro-grants of around $300 to meaningful groups (who are perhaps partnering with other cool, relevant partners or sponsors) that embody one or more of Tech Week’s five tracks:

  • Access/Policy
  • Arts/Creative
  • Design/Development
  • Entrepreneurship/Investment
  • Media/Transparency

To apply for one of the micro-grants, fill out this form: Ph.ly/PTW_microgrant. Deadline is Thursday, Feb. 28 at 5 p.m.

Supporting your event through a micro-grant is something we want to do in addition to the many events we’re already organizing or partnering with others on.

And in the interest of transparency: we always share that Tech Week sponsorship is largely what funds our year-round, daily-dedicated reporting and full-time community organizing efforts, but we’re always committed to supporting that growth. So we want to try sharing here, and perhaps when relevant, even connect with a fitting sponsor.

We look forward to reviewing your submissions!
