The soon-to-be 3rd Ward space on 4th Street.

If all goes as planned, Brooklyn coworking space 3rd Ward is still slated to expand to Philadelphia via Kensington. It’s just going to take a bit longer than expected.

The spot, which we reported on last September, was meant to open this summer at 1227 N. 4th Street, but Marketing Director Lauren Puglia says it’s looking more like a September launch.

3rd Ward’s launch will be another addition to a noticeable boom in infrastructure for the creative and startup communities, with a number of coworking, accelerator and incubator spaces launching this year.

Philly’s own NextFab Studios, which offers similar programming and a familiar creative-oriented mission, expanded to South Philadelphia in April from its West Market Street digs.

Puglia says right now, Philly’s 3rd Ward is looking for instructors of all kinds. For some ideas, the original 3rd Ward is currently offering classes in sewing, bike mechanics and bookkeeping. Send your resumes to jobs@3rdward.com.
