Paul Touhey, executive vice chairman of Invisible Sentinel, won the PA Bio Award’s Leadership Award, the Philadelphia Business Journal reported. Invisible Sentinel is a University City Science Center-based diagnostics company for foodborne illnesses.
Spark Therapeutics, the gene therapy company that spun out of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, won “Deal of the Year” at the PA Bio Awards.

Edison Ventures got a 14x return on its $3.3 million investment in Virginia Beach, Va.-based, publicly-traded company JTH Holding, according to a release. JTH is the parent company of tax preparation company Liberty Tax.
