The State needs your help in redesigning its business registration website

Calling all business owners and civic hackers. The team behind the State's one-stop business portal wants to hear from you.

Have you ever looked at a government website and wondered what the designers were thinking when they put it together? Well, now you get to actually talk to the government and tell them what you think.
That’s right, the Department of State, Department of Technology and Information, Department of Finance and Department of Labor want to hear from you about revamping the One Stop Business registration website.
The portal was initially created roughly ten years ago to create a soft landing for entrepreneurs to apply for business licenses and sign up for state services, but there’s current concern about information accessibility. While the State has kicked off the redesign process, feedback is being solicited from the Delaware tech community to make sure that design goals are on par with what users are actually looking for.
Which makes sense that Dana Rohrbough, director of the Delaware Government Information Center asked members of Open Data Delaware’s Slack for help earlier this month. Rohrbough and her team will be arranging meetings in two-hour slots next month, those interested in participating should get in touch directly.
Why should you get involved? Well, this sounds like a civic hacker’s dream, it’s already a project that’s being implemented and your participation is actually being solicited. You don’t have to put together a solution and pitch it to anyone because there’s already interest in making improvements. Your suggestions will not fall on deaf ears.
It reminds us of how, in late 2014, the City of Philadelphia launched an “alpha” version of its website redesign and solicited feedback.
