Delaware’s internet speed is #winning

The First State ranks at the top for various internet speed categories, according to a new report by Akamai Technologies.

Delaware is again one of the best states — and in some cases, the best state — for bringing you super speedy internet.
Akamai Technologies, Inc. released its latest State of the Internet: Q3 2015 Report in December. The group used data from its content delivery network from 2015’s third quarter for its findings.
The report says Delaware has the second-fastest average connection speed by state (it’s only behind Washington, D.C., which btw, is NOT a state), with an average of 18.5 Mbps of broadband internet. Delaware handily beats D.C. with average peak connection speed which a big increase over the quarter of 31 percent.

Delaware is neck-and-neck with Rhode Island in leading the country with 96 percent of its speeds higher than 4 Mbps.

Finally, Delaware is second to the District of Columbia (which, again, is NOT a state) in 25 Mbps Broadband adoption.
