The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) and OpenGov Hub (disclosure: the home of this reporter) will be hosting the event hoping to “catalyze dialog about transportation safety and allow residents to analyze and hack new information and data to offer new perspectives” on Feb. 13.
DDOT will release three new datasets before the hackathon, including data on crashes, moving violations and parking violations between 2010 and 2014. Vision Zero, recall, is an initiative aimed at eliminating transport-related deaths in D.C. by 2024.
