More former military facilities are being rehabbed for tech ventures.

In a story about the $100 million fund the NYCEDC is developing to support biotech in New York City, Xconomy lists a number of biotech incubators either in development or opened in New York, including one what’s still being renovated at the Brooklyn Army Terminal in Sunset Park.

With 500,000 square feet overall, the terminal’s biotech incubator’s anchor tenant is the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative, according to the NYCEDC website. The New York Biosciences Initiative website suggests that if the initial half-million square feet is leased, there is an initial 4.6 million at the BAT available in a future phase as well.
