Two locations in Maryland will serve as staging grounds for the International Space Apps Challenge happening April 12 and April 13.
The 48-hour-long hackathon, which is happening simultaneously at more than 90 events worldwide, will take place locally at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Md., and at the hotDesks coworking space in Salisbury, Md.
SpaceApps provides teams the chance to work on challenges — like bringing consistent Internet connectivity to space and making a smart phone serve as a satellite — picked by NASA and its Open Innovation Program.
