Counterfeit spotting startup Entrupy got a dose of national press this weekend, after being featured in a piece in Bloomberg.

Since we covered Entrupy back in February 2016, the startup has raised $2.6 million and sat with writer Pavel Alpeyev for a full feature on the site, “This Gadget Tells You If Your Handbag Is a Fake.”

Entrupy makes a device hooked up to a mobile app that magnifies and reads the details of designer handbags and merchandise to match details to its database of bag details in order to tell if the bag is authentic or a knockoff. According to the Bloomberg piece, anti-counterfeit technology is a $6.15 billion market.

The whole piece is worth a read.
