TransitView, the real-time transit data tool that launched with a splash in June 2011, was decommissioned Friday.
The data feeds created by its launching remain available — the mechanism has just changed.
The data feed will remain available as part of System Status, which SEPTA recently updated, as Technically Philly reported. At the time, SEPTA Director of Emerging and Specialty Technology Michael Zaleski told Technically Philly that there some discussion of decommissioning TransitView.
The Septa Developers Twitter feed (@septadev) first tweeted the news.
Philadelphians seeking up to date transit information will still be able to access TransitView data via the System Status page, along with real-time information on vehicle location, system advisories, detours, line suspensions, and weather related delays.
