Have you seen those leaves, Philadelphia? The trees were beautiful this weekend, as was the weather. We hope you were able to take an Autumn stroll.
If you didn’t, we have a handful of technology events this week, and we encourage you to take the scenic route before you arrive. This week: the return of TEDxPhilly, a user group of user groups and higher education goes to the bar.

TEDxPhilly – A year after its inaugural edition, TEDxPhilly makes its triumphant return to Philadelphia with the theme of “The City.” Check the speaker’s list here and get 20 percent off of your ticket by using the code TECHPHILLY. Oh, and don’t forget: It’s also election Day, so be sure to get to the polls before the event’s 9 a.m. start time. 9:00 a.m. Tuesday. North Philadelphia. INFO.
Technically Philly Groups Meeting – You might have noticed a small change in our navigation bar above: we added the TP Groups tab, a collection of the region’s user groups and meet ups that we keep track of for this column. Well, every second Wednesday the leaders of those meet ups gather at the Municipal Services building. See the group’s values here and be sure to come out and rep your user group. Wednesday.  6:30 p.m. Malvern. INFO (must be a member, free to sign up)
HigherEdCamp – It’s camping season in Philly. We’ve had BarCamp, WordCamp and now HigherEdCamp. Technology changes quickly and sometimes, the university world is a bit slow to catch up. Help Philadelphia’s higher education community by leading a session or just mingle with the smartest education minds in the city. Friday. All Day. University City. RSVP.
