Submissions now open for NYC Resistor Interactive Show

One of Brooklyn's most fun tech/art shows is gearing up for its ninth year.

Hackerspace NYC Resistor announced an open call for submissions to its ninth annual Interactive Show last week.

The show’s theme is “self driving carbs” and will take place June 2.

“It’s about some time for some smart digital comfort food. An Uber™ for doughnuts, a Facebook for foodies. Have those empty calories of content algorithmically delivered into you consciousness,” the organization wrote in its call for submissions. “Projects don’t necessarily have to be on theme, just something you want to show off at a party.”

NYC Resistor has been around for years and years and is based in Boerum Hill (founding members include a young Bre Pettis and Nick Bilton). It holds workshops regularly, such as “How to program your plants to text you when they need water.” Its annual show is a great place to see side projects and neat work by some of the most interesting people working in the borough. Here’s our writeup of some of the pieces from the 2014 show.
