TinyBop youth app maker raises $6M Series A [Startup Roundup]

Two local companies complete strong equity rounds.

Who’s getting money?

Educational app maker for kids, TinyBop, raised $6 million in a Series A Equity round, according to an SEC filing. We covered the Dumbo startup’s first app, The Human Body.

The ecommerce site for selling artisanally made foods, Mouth, raised $1.5 million on an offered $1.5 million in a Series B equity round, according to an SEC filing. This successfully completes the round we wrote about as open in September.

Who’s getting Buzz?

Kisi, based out of the NYU-Poly Dumbo Incuobator, got covered in a Business Insider story about companies working to make physical keys obsolete.

Brooklynites behind Wearpoint decamp for Haxlr8r in San Francisco. The team will be developing controls for wearable tech that aren’t so obvious as directly touching them.
